MISSION
To create safer communities and build stronger, healthier families through community violence intervention and prevention tools steeped in a public health culture. To reduce the occurrence of gun violence, over-criminalization and mass incarceration.
VISION
MEOC seek to research, develop, and execute proven strategies steeped in a public health culture through the integration of community violence intervention and hospital linked violence prevention programs.
Goals
• To mobilize communities of faith, practitioners, credible messengers; and other local citizens in urban and disenfranchised neighborhoods that are underserved, training them to organize and build collective power in the Black Community.
• To develop community help centers designed to be a trusted space for residents to reach out and touch
• To address the gaps in systemic issues through advocacy and trusted resources
• To support victims of violence, survivors, and community members

Seeking Justice for Slain Loved Ones
In 2020, there were 36 homicides in East St. Louis. A Belleville News-Democrat investigation found that 75% of the 453 homicides from 2000 to 2018 in East St. Louis remained unsolved as of 2019.
